名词性从句

在句子里起名词作用的从句叫名词性从句。它包括主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句四种。这一部分常考三件事：用哪个连接词（that、whether、what 等）、从句要用陈述语序、从句的时态要和主句保持一致。

学完这一节，你应该能判断一个从句属于哪一种，选对连接词，并写出正确的语序，避免把 I don't know where does he live 这样的错句当作正确答案。

四种名词性从句

类型	作用	例句
主语从句	在句中作主语	What he said is true.
宾语从句	作动词或介词的宾语	I know that he is a doctor.
表语从句	作表语（在 be 后面）	The problem is whether we can finish on time.
同位语从句	解释前面的抽象名词	The news that we won the match excited us.

主语从句太长时，常用 it 作形式主语，把从句放在句尾：It is a pity that you missed the chance.

连接词怎么选

连接词	在从句中的作用	意思	例句
that	不作成分，没有意思	引导陈述句	He said (that) he was busy.
whether, if	不作成分	是否	I don't know whether he will come.
what, who, whom, whose, which	作主语、宾语、表语或定语	什么、谁、谁的、哪个	I don't know who he is.
when, where, why, how	作状语	何时、何地、为什么、怎样	Tell me where you live.

whether 和 if

if 只能引导宾语从句，而在下面这些情况只能用 whether：

• 引导主语从句并放在句首：Whether he will come is unknown.
• 引导表语从句：The question is whether it is worth doing.
• 在介词后面：It depends on whether the weather is fine.
• 后面直接跟 or not，或者连接不定式：I don't know whether to go.

that 和 what

that 引导的从句成分是完整的，that 本身不作成分；what 引导的从句缺少主语、宾语或表语，what 要在从句中充当成分。

陈述语序和时态

名词性从句一律用陈述语序，也就是「连接词 + 主语 + 谓语」，不用疑问句的倒装语序。

错误写法	正确写法
I don't know where does he live.	I don't know where he lives.
Could you tell me what is your name?	Could you tell me what your name is?

主句是过去时，宾语从句要用相应的过去时态：He said he was ill. 如果从句讲的是客观真理，仍用一般现在时。
