非谓语动词（二）：动名词与分词

上一节讲了不定式，这一节讲另外两种非谓语动词：动名词和分词。动名词是动词的 -ing 形式，起名词的作用；分词分现在分词（-ing）和过去分词（-ed 等），起形容词或副词的作用。

考试中常见的题目有：哪些动词后面要接动名词；现在分词与过去分词作定语、状语时如何选择；以及 interesting 与 interested 这类 -ing/-ed 形容词的区别。学完这一节，你应该能解决这三类题。

动名词的用法

动名词可以作主语、宾语和表语，也可以放在介词后面：

作用	例句
主语	Reading is my hobby.
宾语	I enjoy listening to music.
介词的宾语	He is good at drawing.

常接动名词作宾语的动词有：enjoy（喜欢）、finish（完成）、mind（介意）、avoid（避免）、practise（练习）、suggest（建议）、consider（考虑）、keep（保持）、miss（错过）、imagine（想象）、admit（承认）、deny（否认）、delay（推迟）、give up（放弃）。

还有一些固定结构后面接动名词：

结构	例句
It is no use/good doing	It is no use crying over spilt milk.
There is no point (in) doing	There is no point arguing with him.
be worth doing	This book is worth reading.
spend time (in) doing	She spends two hours practising every day.
have difficulty (in) doing	I have difficulty understanding him.
look forward to doing	I look forward to seeing you.
can't help doing	I couldn't help laughing.

look forward to、be used to、pay attention to 中的 to 是介词，不是不定式的 to，所以后面要接动名词。

后接动名词与不定式意思不同的动词

动词	接不定式	接动名词
regret	遗憾地做某事：I regret to tell you that…	后悔做过某事：I regret saying that.
go on	接着做另一件事：He went on to write a letter.	继续做原来的事：He went on talking.
mean	打算：I mean to tell you.	意味着：This means waiting.

现在分词和过去分词的区别

形式	意义	例句
现在分词 doing	主动；正在进行	a sleeping baby（正在睡觉的婴儿）
过去分词 done	被动；已经完成	a broken window（被打破的窗户）

作定语

单个分词放在名词前，分词短语放在名词后：the girl standing there，the book written by Lu Xun。有些词两种形式意思不同：falling leaves 是正在落下的叶子，fallen leaves 是落下来的叶子；boiling water 是沸腾的水，boiled water 是煮开过的水。

作状语

分词作状语时，它的逻辑主语必须是主句的主语。

Walking along the river, I met an old friend.	主语 I 和 walk 是主动关系，用现在分词
Seen from the hill, the town looks beautiful.	主语 the town 和 see 是被动关系，用过去分词
Having finished the work, he went home.	完成式，表示动作在主句动作之前完成
He sat there reading a newspaper.	表示伴随的动作
